Las Vegas- Bryan Barberena took a big win, and he did it in an exciting way.
Barberena (17-8 MMA, 8-6 UFC) Quit Former Welterweight Champion Robbie Lawler (29-15 MMA, 14-9 UFC) on Saturday’s UFC 276 main card. The wild and chaotic fight that ended with a Barberena TKO win at 4:47 in round 2.
The welterweight contest was part of the UFC 276 main card at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Barberena had to pull back to take the win.
On the first lap, Lawler didn’t let his foot off the gas and constantly pressed Barberena. Lawler had the lower output, but by far the most important shots. Barberena was constantly throwing combinations, but the majority was blocked by Lawler. It was a standout battle all round.
The second frame was similar, but Lawler found great success with his right hand. Midway through the round, Barberena started to change the momentum of the fight. He pressed Lawler and began making contact with shots that appeared to stun Lawler.
Barberena continued to charge, making clean shots until Lawler was clearly out of the fray. Lawler never dropped to the canvas, but the referee had little choice but to stop the fight.

Barberena has three consecutive wins to his name. The 33-year-old entered UFC 276 with decision wins over Matt Brown and Dairan Weeks. It marks the first time Barberena has racked up more than two consecutive wins in his eight years with the UFC.
Lawler again fell out of the victory column. The 40-year-old was coming off a win over fellow veteran Nick Diaz in his most recent appearance in September 2021 at UFC 266. But before that, Lawler found himself in a four-fight slip dating back to 2017. Lawler is 1 -5 in his finish. six trips to the octagon.
