A newly elected congressman took to Twitter and accused House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of pushing her young daughter during a photo op last week.
“I’m so proud of my strong, beautiful daughter because it didn’t upset her,” Rep. Mayra Flores (R-Texas) said in a tweet with a video of the incident that occurred while she was sworn in on June 21.
“She kept smiling and posing for the picture like a queen,” Flores said of her daughter.
In the video, Pelosi can be seen waving at someone off-camera as she looks down at Flores’ daughter standing next to her and extending her elbow as the child moves to the side.

“No child should be pushed aside for a photo. PERIOD!!” Flores added in the tweet.
The incident took place as Pelosi welcomed newly elected Flores (30) to the House of Representatives.
“It is a great honor to welcome Congressman Flores to the Capitol and the… United States Congress Congratulations,” Pelosi said Sunday. “And again, grateful for her leadership and her wonderful family who are here today.”

Flores was also officially sworn in as a member at the ceremony, becoming the first Mexican-born congressional representative.
The two lawmakers shook hands and completed the ceremony without incident.
“Thank you Congressman Flores for your courage in running for office and best wishes for your success,” Pelosi added at the ceremony. “It’s an honor to work with you.”
Flores is an outspoken pro-life Texan who US Supreme Court recent overthrow of Roe v. Wade.
“I thank God for the landmark decision of the Supreme Court today. It is clear that the Constitution never created the right to abortion, and this ruling rightly returns the power to regulate abortion to the people and their elected representatives in the states. All life is precious, and today life has won,” she wrote on social media.
Flores was born in Burgos Tamaulipas, Mexico, and legally came to the United States when she was 6 years old, according to her bio. She then became a naturalized American citizen.
She spent most of her life in Texas, in the Rio Grande Valley, San Benito and Memphis.
Flores will run again in November against Democratic candidate Vicente Gonzalez.
